At Mayan Technologies, we believe that even the smallest acts of kindness can have the biggest impact on others. Therefore, we are continually looking for ways to give back to our community.
Having offices across the United States, Canada, and Mexico has allowed us to broaden our efforts in making a difference in the world we live in.
This year we made it our mission to spread holiday joy to hundreds of children one toy at a time. We collaborated with Children's Medical Center Dallas on their toy drive and with Santa por un Dia (Santa for a Day), a program in Monterrey, Mexico, to achieve our goal.
We couldn’t have met our goal or had such success in the amount of donations received without the support of our community, staff, and clients from all over. We are so grateful that you stood with us in helping make a difference for so many children this past holiday.
Toy Drive Benefiting Children's Medical Center Dallas
Children's Medical Center Dallas is a pediatric teaching hospital in Dallas, Texas. As one of the top pediatric hospitals in the United States, it offers expertise in more than 50 pediatric specialties. And for more than 100 years, their mission has been to make life better for children.
We made it our goal this year at Mayan Technologies, to ensure that every child at Children's Medical Center Dallas had a joyful and magical holiday, as we've seen firsthand the hardships, stress, and uncertainty that patients and families face on a daily basis, and as we've witnessed the incredible work and dedication of their medical professionals and staff.
Drop off Day
What a memorable afternoon it was on Friday, December 17, when members of our team and our little helpers Axel and Declan, arrived at Dallas Children's Medical Center with boxes full of toys and school supplies.
We had so many toys, school materials, and other donations that it took three vehicles to get everything to the hospital. The hospital staff greeted us outside with carts to transport our donations inside; our boxes were so full that more carts were required to keep up with the number of donated gifts!
The staff at Dallas Children's Medical Center were thrilled and thanked us repeatedly for our toy and school supply donations. It was extremely uplifting to see how much of a difference these gifts will make in the lives of the children who were being hospitalized, as well as their families.
“El Mediador” and Santa por un Dia Program
Mayan Technologies teamed with “El Mediador” for the fourth year in a row in the Santa X un Dia (Santa for a Day) program. The Santa X un Dia program helps hundreds of underprivileged children have a more memorable Christmas.
Every year, a low-income community is assisted over the holidays. San Judas Tadeo was this year's community, a small town with a high poverty rate that is located right outside of Juarez, Monterrey.
We were able to donate 74 toys and various infant items to the community with the help and support of local and distant donors. We were thrilled and humbled by the outpouring of support we received through the donations.
Drop off Day
The toy delivery event was held on Friday, December 24th, and what a magical day it was. Mayan Technologies team members and program coordinators convened at the community of San Judas Tadeo. The afternoon was spent sorting and arranging all the donated toys, as well as the Christmas meals supplied by other benefactors.
Families began to arrive and were in awe of all the support. While toys were given to the children, the Christmas meals were provided to their families. Words cannot express how touching it was to see the children's smiles and the magic of the holiday coming to life.
