Celebrating Women's History Month

March is Women's History Month.

Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture, and society. From Abigail Adams to Susan B. Anthony, Sojourner Truth to Rosa Parks, the timeline of women’s historical milestones stretches back to the founding of the United States. We continue to see prominent women in today’s society, breaking gender barriers, and making history on a daily basis.

The National Women’s History Alliance designates a yearly theme for Women's History Month. The 2021 theme is a continuation of 2020's: "Valiant Women of the Vote: Refusing to Be Silenced." This theme recognizes the battle for women's right to vote, which was gained with the passage of the 19th amendment in 1920. For almost 100 years, women had fought, relentlessly, for the right to vote: They made speeches, signed petitions, staged demonstrations, and argued that women, like men, deserved all the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.

On Mach 8th, we celebrated International Women’s Day, a global celebration of the economic, political, and social achievements of women. At Mayan Technologies, we commemorated and continue to celebrate women’s achievements across the globe. As a company, we want to take this opportunity to recognize and thank the amazing women in our team for their hard work, ambition, and dedication. To show our admiration, we personally delivered to each of our female professionals on our team a gift as a token of our appreciation.

Making a Difference

As we continue our philanthropic outreach, we are proud to support, through our internal Open-Heart Initiative, the Alternativas Pacificas organization located in Monterrey, Mexico. This civil organization has supported women and their children find and defend their right to live without violence for over 22 years.

During the month of March, we donated several items to this cause, from toys and clothing items to disposable plates and utensils. We continue to believe that if we come together, we can make a big difference in many lives and hope that with this demonstration, we will support women who seek a safer life for themselves and their children as well as building a better, violent-free country for future generations.

For more information about this association, please visit their website or search for them on facebook and we want to thank all those who donated items to this cause as we are sure that each and every item donated will be put to good use.
